Conduction of Heat Through Dissimilar Metals

Four metal rods (copper, aluminum, brass and iron) are attached to a metal disc which is immersed in water near the boiling point. Wax tabs attached at the free ends of the rods will sag when heat sufficient to melt the wax is conducted to the end of the rod. The unit is displayed on an overhead projector.
