Appropriate for discussions of energy conservation and/or forces in circular motion: A ball rolls down an inclined track and into a vertical loop at the bottom of the incline. The ball will remain on the track through the entire loop only if it is started from a sufficient height on the incline. Neglecting the rotational kinetic energy of the rolling ball, the minimum height is 5/2 R, where R is the radius of the loop.
