Two-Source Microwave Interference

A two-source microwave interference pattern is produced by a klystron coupled by waveguides to two transmitter horns (shown at left in the photo). A receiver horn with a diode detector can be moved in the plane of interference pattern to locate the maxima and minima. One of the two horns is equipped with an attenuator to show the effect on the interference pattern of eliminating one of the sources.
